TOOB hosting food drive

Saturday, Oct. 8 fundraiser to benefit South Delta Food Bank
TOOB food drive
The TOOB has committed to make a $1,000 cash donation to help replenish food supplies and is stepping up again to help fill the need, by holding a Food Drive to benefit the South Delta Food Bank on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the South Delta Recreation Centre parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thanksgiving has traditionally been a time to show gratitude for safe journeys, peace, and bountiful harvests.

With increases in the cost of living, food banks have experienced a greater demand for their services and support.

The Delta Food Bank serves the South Delta community and provides supplemental support in the way of groceries to those dealing with short or long term financial distress.

The food bank accepts donations of non-perishable food or financial donations. In fact most food banks prefer financial donations, which have a five to one buying power over food donations.

The TOOB has committed to make a $1,000 cash donation to help replenish food supplies and is stepping up again to help fill the need, by holding a Food Drive to benefit the South Delta Food Bank on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the South Delta Recreation Centre parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Bring your donation of non-perishable food items in the trunk of your car and TOOB volunteers will lift your donation out and add it to the growing supply. In lieu of food donations, anyone wishing to make a financial donation can do so by donating cash as well as cheques payable to The South Delta Food Bank. Debit and credit donations are also accepted.

This is your chance to give thanks and share a little cheer with some folks who are less fortunate.
