The Delta Hospital Foundation recently received a $12,000 donation from the Tsawwassen Legion to fund modernized equipment for the ER.

A long-time supporter of Delta Hospital, the Tsawwassen Legion has donated over $100,000 since 1995.

The recent donation will go towards a muchneeded replacement of two medication carts for the ER, both of which have been in use at Delta Hospital for the past 20 years. With an increase of 43 per cent in patient visits over the past five years, and with the number of acute cases steadily rising, modernized carts more suited to the busy ER will greatly assist hospital staff in their treatment of patients.

The donation will also cover the cost of electrically operated parallel bars, vitally important for rehabilitative and physical therapies, helping people to regain their strength, balance, range of motion and independence in their recovery from injuries, illnesses and other debilitating conditions.

"We are privileged to once again be supported by Legion Branch #289," says Lisa Hoglund, Delta Hospital Foundation's individual giving manager. "They make such a big commitment to supporting our community here in Delta, not only through the hospital foundation but through their support of many other organizations and projects. It is gifts such as these that make a world of difference not only for our patients but for hospital staff dedicated to providing the best in patient care."

Supporting Delta

Hospital is a cause close to home for many Tsawwassen Legion members.

"Delta Hospital has supported many in our community over the years, from emergency care through to long-term residential care in Mountain View Manor. We were only too happy to contribute these essential items that have the capacity to support many Delta residents into the future," says Tsawwassen Legion president Gary Bain.
