Backyard bees, trees, vines and bushes bear nature’s sweetest bounty, each adding local honey, jams and jellies, evergreen swags and wreaths, to Saturday’s European-style Christmas Craft Fair at St. David’s Anglican Church.
Come Saturday Nov. 20, COVID passports will get fair-goers to the Tsawwassen ‘Europe’ more quickly than a Government of Canada Passport to the EU! All the sooner to discover Bratwurst sausages sizzling on an outside grill, whiffs of hot coffee, and the smell-good aroma of traditional Stollen.
The enticing fragrance of freshly-cut cedar boughs in the entrance of St. David’s, will be the next hint that something Christmassy is afoot in the cul-de-sac of 51A Street.
And there is much more, including stalls displaying the work of parishioners who have knitted and stitched, made Christmas cards or ornaments, or collected and donated books and jewellery.
Purveyors at the home-baking table have all manner of kitchen edibles to attract the shopper intent on taking home ready-made baked goods or a jar of preserves. Jams, jellies, pickles and relish causes one to marvel at so much summer goodness captured within glass.
Come see for yourself, 10 am to 2 pm at 1115 - 51A Street.
