Workshop on brain health

Healthy aging is important for everyone, and it is essential not to forget the health of your brain as well, says the non-profit Alzheimer Society of B.C.

Healthy aging is important for everyone, and it is essential not to forget the health of your brain as well, says the non-profit Alzheimer Society of B.C.

To encourage local residents to protect and maintain the health of their brain, the society will run a free workshop, Understanding Dementia and Brain Health, on Thursday, Jan. 26 in Ladner.

"In just two hours, participants will learn about Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, as well as strategies for improving the health of their mind, body and spirit," says Anthony Kupferschmidt, the regional support and education coordinator for the society.

Anyone interested in brain health is welcome to attend.

The workshop runs from 11: 15 a.m. to 12: 45 p.m. at McKee Seniors' Recreation Centre.

Seats are limited, so pre-registration is strongly encouraged. For more information and to register, call 604-238-7390 or e-mail [email protected]. Admission is by donation.
