Teens and tweens will be able to experience interactive virtual reality fiction at the library. Fraser Valley Regional Library (FVRL) is launching Inanimate Alice: Perpetual Nomads at libraries in Delta, Maple Ridge and Abbotsford.

Delta Nature is presenting a free program that will look at ongoing efforts to protect an environmentally rich part of B.C. Pink Mountain: A story of biodiversity, conflict and success, with Ron Long will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m.

The 3rd Boundary Bay Cubs and Beavers raised more than $3,000 during their recent Apple Day, money that will go directly to programming, events and camps.

Volunteers like Patti Archibald help to ensure that support is there for patients and families at the Delta Hospice Society. Archibald’s favourite volunteer shift at the Irene Thomas Hospice in Ladner is at lunch time.

Delta Gymnastics hosted a Sport Showdown on Saturday. The friendly competition included team building, laughs, prizes and tons of fun. Teams were made up of eight to 12 people of any gender, age or ability level.

As part of its 10-year anniversary celebration, Vancity Tsawwassen presented Delta Farm Roots Mini School with a $500 grant.

Tsawwassen Mills is celebrating Halloween throughout the month of October. The Mills has constructing an elaborate 1,600 sq-ft indoor Halloween maze to get monsters of all ages thrilled for the season.

The Delta Police Foundation and Save-on-Foods in Tsawwassen, Ladner and North Delta have donated what’s literally a tower of candy and treats to the Delta Police Department so officers can hand it out over the Halloween period.
