The Delta Firefighters Charitable Society recently dropped off a cheque for $25,000 for the Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation. The donation goes towards its $100,000 pledge in support of the Peter C. and Elizabeth Toigo Diagnostic Services Building that is on track for completion this fall.

The expansion of Delta Hospital’s lab and medical imaging services will mean faster and more sophisticated diagnosis for patients. It will also mean more state-of-the-art equipment in both departments, providing this community with a broader access to diagnostic services.

“We are so grateful for the support we receive from the Delta Firefighters Charitable Society,” says Lisa Hoglund, executive director of the Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation. “Delta firefighters already do so much through the service they provide to our community, and receiving this gift that comes directly from their members’ paycheques is humbling.”

The Delta Firefighters Charitable Society is 100 per cent volunteer run. Founded in 1994, the society has supported over 130 groups and organizations as well as individual recipients suffering from medical or financial hardships.
