Delta non-profit looking to give $4000 to right woman

The University Women’s Club of South Delta is seeking applicants for the Phoebe Hamilton Bursary. The $4,000 bursary will be awarded to one eligible student to mark the Canadian Federation of University Women’s 100 th anniversary.

The University Women’s Club of South Delta is seeking applicants for the Phoebe Hamilton Bursary.

The $4,000 bursary will be awarded to one eligible student to mark the Canadian Federation of University Women’s 100th anniversary.

Applicants must be a female resident of South Delta and be enrolled in a post-secondary program in psychology, mental health, social work or theology.

Since its founding in 1919, the organization has been working to improve the status of women and to promote human rights, public education, social justice and peace. All women who support those values are welcome as members; a university degree is not required. A non-partisan, voluntary, self-funded organization with close to 100 clubs located in every province across Canada, it’s part of Graduate Women International, a global organization of 60 countries and has special consultative status at the United Nations.
