The Delta Photo Club won the prestigious Black and White Invitational held by the Crescent Beach Photo Club earlier this month.

The club finished well ahead of second place North Shore Photographic Society and third place Abbotsford Photo Arts Club in the April 13 competition that attracted 12 clubs from throughout the Lower Mainland.

This is the fifth time in 12 years that Delta has won this competition.

Hamid Ebrahimi's "Tranquil" garnered Delta's highest score at 23.5 out of 30. That along with the scores for images from Juliet Fricker (Vietnamese Elder), Cam Heryet (Fish Sticks), Urs Fricker (Orthodox Church), George Pierce (Standing Guard), and Sharon Wright (Attitude) gave Delta its first place finish.

At the Pacific Zone Challenge hosted by the Richmond Photo Club in early April, Delta placed second. Honourable mentions were awarded to Kerri-Jo Stewart for "Cavalia Liberty" and Ray Goddard for "Ancient Windows."

"The skill level just keeps going up," said Delta print chair Bob Grand-Scrutton.
