ElderCollege Delta delves into one of the world’s great murder mysteries with a special presentation titled Jack the Ripper and the Royal Family: Murder and Myth.

Dr. Simon Devereaux, an associate professor of history at the University of Victoria, will lead the special presentation on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to noon at Cedar Park Church in Ladner.

Jack the Ripper is the most infamous murderer in modern history. Never captured, his identity is one of England’s most well-known mysteries. There are theories linking his crimes to the highest level of government and even the British Royal Family.

For more than 40 years, many people have believed Jack the Ripper was either a member of the Royal Family or someone acting at its behest or at least in its interest. Devereaux will explain how that theory developed and even stranger versions.

The presentation is complimentary to current members. Non-members are invited to attend by taking out a $10 ElderCollege Delta membership.

Pre-registration is required by visiting ElderCollegeDelta/KinVillage, emailing eldercollegedelta@kinvillage.org or calling 604-943-0262.
