English Bluff Elementary is getting a new piece of original artwork in time for the new school year.
Tsawwassen artist Gary Nay designed the nature scene, a “whimsical interpretation” of the view from below English Bluff looking up towards the school.
He was there working on the mural with a group of students and parents when the Optimist dropped by Thursday afternoon.
“I think in the end it’s going to be a really nice piece… that we’ll all be proud of,” said Nay.
The goal is to have the mural, which is being painted on an outdoor emergency bin on the school grounds, finished in the next few days.
Leah Duhamel, one of the parents helping on Thursday, said it’s an exciting project and that it’s great to have some original art on display.
