John Burr, Kristy Storey, Dave Mason and Jarrod Burr presented a cheque for $30,911 from the Delta Firefighters Charitable Foundation outside the new Lois E. Jackson Kinsmen Centre for Children currently under construction.

“We’re proud and honoured to support Reach Society and we’re happy to be part of the Reach family,” said Burr, the foundation’s president.

Reach executive director Renie D’Aquila applauded the Delta firefighters for all their hard work on the Harvest Festival that raised $106,911 to benefit Reach, the Blue Skies Project and the Community Initiative Fund.

The $30,911 contribution to Reach helps finalize construction of the child development centre adjacent to the Ladner Pioneer Library.

Once complete, the three-storey centre will serve as a place of learning and belonging for children with special needs and their families, providing therapy and counselling rooms, youth program areas, specialized lending libraries, an inclusive pre-school with accessible playground, and expanded event space for municipal, business and community use.
