Homebuilders Association Vancouver’s 24th annual Coats for Kids campaign aims to provide a warmer winter for low-income families.

Member companies are providing 72 drop-off locations across 16 Metro Vancouver municipalities so people can donate new and gently used coats, scarves, gloves, blankets and new unwrapped toys and gifts for children of all ages.

Coats for Kids collection will take place until Dec. 6. The goal is to collect over 10,000 items.

Member companies will gather on Dec. 6 to build a mountain of coats in an effort to present a gigantic heartwarming donation to the Lower Mainland and Surrey Christmas bureaus at Santa's Workshop (aka Trail Appliances in Richmond).

The event will run from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and will include choirs arriving on Santa’s sleigh. Members and guests dropping off donations can also enjoy Buddy’s Hot Breakfast Bar, the Gingerbread Man’s Cookie Decoration Station, a Customizable Hot Chocolate Bar and photos with Santa in the Sub Zero room.

Donations can be dropped off in South Delta at: Sarah Gallop Design Inc. & Kemp Construction (11-1835-56th St.), Best Builders Ltd. (103-5461-12th Ave.), J&R Excavation & Demolition Ltd. (7782 Progress Way), New Vision Projects Inc. (228-67th St.) and Dulux Paints, PPG (1135-56th St.).
