Morgan McDonough is once again hoping to brighten the holidays for those in need one pair of socks at a time.

McDonough is getting set to host his third annual Sock Rock this Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Parish Centre, 3900 Arthur Dr., Ladner.

When he was 11, he said he’d like to give back and came up with the idea that if people had warm feet, they would also have warm hearts. He started collecting socks and decided on doing a fundraising event.

Children bring a pair of socks (or a few pairs of socks) as entrance fee to the Sock Rock and then dance the night away in their socks (while cleaning the gym floor in doing so) to tunes played by a DJ.

Parents are welcome to stay or drop off.

All proceeds go to the Lookout Society in Vancouver. Last year the fundraiser collected 1,000 pairs of socks and $2,000 in donations.
