A team of friends and their children gathered on Jan. 1 at the South Delta Recreation Centre for their second annual fun, family hockey game.

With many of their children now at university, they do not get their gear out and play as often as they would like and the parents miss the camaraderie of the games.  They wanted to do something where the parents and siblings can play together. This seemed like a great reason to gather for a game and start off 2019 in style.

Adding a chartable component seemed only right, especially at this time of year, whereby everyone can throw in a few dollars.

“KidSport seemed like the perfect charity for us,” said game organizer Dave Kraemer. “I think we all recognize not only how much sport has brought to our lives, but also how lucky we all are to be living in a community like South Delta, so if we can help others experience what we all have, that is awesome!”

KidSport Delta is very appreciative of this donation.

“We appreciate the thoughtfulness of this donation as it not only helps us to give more money out to the children of Delta but also gives recognition to KidSport,” said KidSport Delta chair Carlene Lewall. “We want everyone to know that KidSport is here to help those do not have the financial means to have their children participate in sport.”
