Scientists from around the world will be taking part in an upcoming conference hosted by the Burns Bog Conservation Society.

Dr. Hans Joosten, a peatland expert from Germany, Kate Flood, a conservationist from Ireland, and Sandrine Hugron, a plant biologist from Quebec, are among the special guests attending and speaking at Peatlands for People Revisited.

The conference will run from Oct. 11 to 13 and include the society’s 30th anniversary celebration.

In association with Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Peatlands for People Revisited brings together local and international scientists to share their work and knowledge with students, educators, environmental organizations and government representatives.

The first Peatlands for People conference was held back in 1996.
