Pansies are an old garden favourite for fall into summer plantings.
Most varieties are very cold hardy, flowering non-stop unless we have a hard frost, and then recovering quickly into re-bloom.
Plant then in a pot by themselves or plant them with other cold hardy plants like hellebore, kale or heather. Plant them as ground cover in flower beds. A patch beside your front door will lift your spirits when you come home during our dark winter twilights.
