Space is available for new registrants in a unique program that helps Ladner residents living with dementia.

Minds in Motion runs for six Mondays starting on Sept. 9 and accepts participants at any time before it finishes on Oct. 21.

The social and fitness program is part of the Alzheimer Society of B.C.’s First Link dementia support for people in the early stages of the disease, and their care partner.

The program helps them stay active and engaged in the community.

Benefits of the exercise component include improved balance, mobility and flexibility, as well as helping to build the confidence to live well with dementia.

Minds in Motion also helps care partners form new social support networks.

Sessions run Mondays from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. (no class Oct. 14) at McKee Seniors Recreation Centre. Pre-registration is required in person at the centre or by calling 604-946-1411.
