“Sympathy is no substitute for action.” David Livingstone The Good Samaritan story is about a man who gets mugged and left on the side of the road. He is passed over by his own people who are too busy to stop and help.
Enters the Good Samaritan. He was the one who stopped and cared for the neglected. Where others stopped and had pity, the Samaritan decided to change this man’s world.
Imagine what would happen if every person in church combined their gifts, talents, abilities and passions to achieve one thing: #LOVEPEOPLE. It’s what we live for, and it’s why we have this as our church vision.
The #LOVEPEOPLE concept is simple: We love people no matter who they are, where they come from, what they have done or what they believe. We love them. When we #LOVEPEOPLE we are a conduit of God’s power. In that, we realize it has very little to do with ourselves; rather it has to do with the heart of God for lost people.
“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John 13:34-35
You can live in this #LOVEPEOPLE culture in three ways: Pray. Give. Go. Pray for everyone, not just those close to you. Give your time and your resources. Go take action, show people they are loved. Wash a car, pick up leaves, bake some cookies, invite them over for dinner. Let people know you care.
