Sail past opens Ladner Yacht Club's 2019 season

The Ladner Yacht Club held its annual sail past last Saturday. The event, held under sunny skies, officially opened the club’s 2019 boating season. Commodore Steve Fudge with first mate Brodie (pictured) took the salute from his vessel Nu Moon II as 15 boats passed by off Barber Island in the Ladner Reach area. The boats were piped along by Delta Police Pipe Band members Pipe Major Steve Ramsden, Drum Major/piper Moe Coll and Deputy Drum Major/piper Jim Wishlove. The event concluded with cocktails and hor d’oeuvres at the LYC clubhouse on River Road. The club was established in 1958.
