Mamma mia! Diners at Vancouver’s Pepino’s, the contemporary revamp of the venerable Nick’s Spaghetti House on the Drive, spotted something pretty awesome besides the saucy plates of pasta at the Italian joint: actor Seth Rogen.

Pepino’s adds that Rogen and his family used to enjoy Nick’s over the years — as many Vancouverites did in the restaurant’s former iteration — and even put on the “bib” they offer customers to guard against spaghetti splashback.

Rogen’s been having a lot of fun in Vancouver lately: a few days ago he performed as part of the JFL Northwest fest, ending his show by having Mounties toss out Timbits to the crowd. He’s also been back to his hometown to show the Ugly Delicious host and star chef David Chang around to some favourite spots (such as Lee’s Donuts at the Granville Island Public Market) and getting in touch with his inner kid at the Vancouver Aquarium — where an octopus was recently named in his honour.

Pepino’s is the contemporary revamp of Nick’s, which had more than 60-year run on the Drive. In 2018, the team behind Savio Volpe took over the space and re-opened the restaurant, leaving much of the vibe of the previous Italian food institution intact.
