Seniors Can Move!

Delta Gymnastics recently held a holiday party at the gym for participants in its Seniors Can Move program, which included a photo in their new program T-shirts. Developed by the Delta Gymnastics Society last year, Seniors Can Move is enabling those 65 years and older to take part in physical activity in a gymnastics setting at the Delta Sport Development Centre in Ladner. Classes are open to all Delta seniors and registration is free. Classes include simple stretching routines as well as other exercises designed to help improve agility, balance, co-ordination and strength. The made-in-Delta program has been so successful it is being replicated at more than a dozen gym clubs throughout the province thanks to provincial funding.
