South Delta Garden Club has a monthly meeting set for Feb. 18 in Ladner.

The South Delta Garden Club will welcome award-winning photographer and alpine flower specialist David Sellars to its monthly meeting next week.

Sellers will present Chaos in the Rock Garden: Putting Theory into Practice on Tuesday, Feb. 18 in Ladner.

In his presentation, Sellars will focus on rock garden design and how it relates to natural landscapes and preferred plant habitats. The principles of chaos theory will be introduced together with the way nature can be described by fractal geometry and the principle of self-similarity.

Sellars will illustrate his talk with images from the European Alps, the Pyrenees and mountain ranges in North America. The presentation will conclude with a practical application of chaos theory in his garden.

Members and guests are invited to attend what promises to be a fascinating peek into how nature behaves and adapts to its surroundings.
