Dr. Raj Dhiman of Ladner’s Riverside Dental will once again promote a healthier Halloween with his Cash for Candy program.
Dr. Dhiman will pay $2 for every pound of Halloween candy a child exchanges at Riverside Dental from Nov. 4 to 7, and a matching donation will then be made to Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation.
This innovative program has raised over $9,500 through the years.
As a father, Dr. Dhiman knows how fun and festive Halloween can be for children and parents alike. Parents like the Cash for Candy program as it’s a healthier alternative without taking away the fun and excitement of trick-or-treating. The kids feel like they’re making a difference in their community, with the bonus of exchanging their Halloween candy for money.
Halloween candy can be exchanged during the following office hours: Monday, Nov. 4 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and, Thursday, Nov. 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Children can weigh their candy on a large scale to see exactly how much they are contributing to Delta Hospital. Collected candy will then be donated to a drug rehabilitation centre.
