Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions are seeking applicants for award

The Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club is currently looking for applicants for one of its annual awards. The Russ Wellburn Memorial Award is handed out to a student completing Grade 12 who has plans to pursue training in a trades/technology program.

The Russ Wellburn Memorial Award is handed out to a student completing Grade 12 who has plans to pursue training in a trades/technology program.

Russ Wellburn was a long-time member of the Lions. He was born in Tsawwassen and became a leading local farmer, builder and businessman.

Potential candidates must have satisfactory Grade 12 academic achievements, and have participated in community service and/or been involved in athletic or fine arts programs at school.

The application form and a short essay — Where I want to be in five years — outlining their education and career goals must be dropped off at the career centre at South Delta Secondary by Monday, April 28.
