Tsawwassen Legion has a new kitchen

Tsawwassen Legion president Bill Belsey welcomed Delta MP Carla Qualtrough to tour the branch’s new kitchen last week. The $24,000 project was made possible thanks to a federal grant of $25,000 from the New Horizons program. The remaining funds were used to purchase a barbecue for summer use. Belsey said the kitchen was gutted from the floor up as counters were replaced, new sinks put in as well as an industrial dishwasher, gas stove top and two new ovens. The labour was done by Legion volunteers. The Legion has also put in a grant application for new flooring. Belsey called the kitchen renovation a real “game changer” for the Century Square facility.
