The inaugural Festival of Lights at Tsawwassen Springs is set to be unveiled to the community Friday night.
On Monday, Delta firefighters were on hand to unload 100 trees, seen here in this video posted on the Tsawwwassen Springs' Facebook page, donated by Harris Nursery, which will be decorated this week by sponsors and community businesses.
Friday’s opening event at 6 p.m. will see Mayor George Harvie light the trees. The opening event will also feature music by Martin & Whitney, Santa will be flying in for a special visit, coffee and hot chocolate from Nat’s Coffee House, fresh baked goodies by Tsawwassen Springs, other refreshments provided by Coca-Cola, a children’s inflatable archery range provided by Bass Pro Shops, goodie bags courtesy of My Tsawwassen Dentist, skating on the outdoor rink, popcorn by the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen and other fun children’s activities. Those planning to attend the event are also asked to bring their own flashlight.
There will also be a raffle for a 55-inch TV courtesy of Telus. The Festival of Lights runs from Nov. 29 to Jan. 6 from 4 p.m. daily.
