The Ladner Pioneer Library hosted Baby Play Date Wednesday morning to teach parents how to play with their children and encourage early literacy at the same time.

Two old timers slouch in chairs outside the saloon, hats clamped low on their foreheads, stubbled chins and dusty boots. "Guess I should head home," one drawls.

September is a big month. Kids go back to school and routines that were lost over the lazy, hazy days of summer are found again. And, what's one of the biggest routines to be addressed and reinstated? Fitness. Fall is my busiest time of year.

The winners of this summer’s draw for a tour on the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue boat – the Spirit of Delta 5 were Chris Schindelhauer and his son Nick. They joined the RCM SAR crew of Dale Anaka, Hans Verbeek and Terry Bowman.
