The Rotary Club of Ladner recently donated $2,000 to the 1st Kirkland Ladner Scouts. The troop is attempting to raise $16,000 to attend the Pacific Jamboree in July in Sooke.

It seems there's a Tim Hortons location just about everywhere, except in Ladner, although that could soon change if a recent proposal is approved.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of Delta residents last fall, Delta firefighters were able to donate $7,500 from their annual boot drive to Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

Conductor and composer Bramwell Tovey was at Delta Secondary last week to speak to music students as part of an ongoing mentorship program between the high school and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra called VSO Connects: Secondary.

Rand Lutman and fellow members of the Delta Amateur Society were at the Ladner Pioneer Library last Sunday to set up a special amateur radio station in honour of the 200th birthday of Sir John A. McDonald, Canada’s first prime minister.

This youngster was captivated by a 3D printer during a demonstration by members of 3D604 at the Tsawwassen Library last Saturday afternoon.
