Tsawwassen independent director-actor Beau Han Bridge will be showcasing his work at a screening event in Vancouver Sunday.

The event will include the premiere of his debut feature film, Ocean.

Four short films will be shown before the feature.

“All of these works were produced in 2017, contain mixes of comedy, drama, experimentalism, and altogether showcase an eclectic diversity that both I and my collaborators have been fortunate enough to explore through Canadian indie-filmmaking,” says Bridge.

Oceanlooks at various relationships mirroring one another in a “Canadiana-multi-narrative depiction” of millennial youths living around Vancouver.

The shorts are titled Just Kidding, Homecoming, Text I Love You and Molly Misbegotten.

Bridge also recently founded a theatre company, Midtwenties Theatre Society, to address plays less explored in the theatre scene as well as focus on plays that can’t easily be fit into specific genres. The company staged its debut production this year.

Sunday’s film screening takes place at The Cinematheque. The films are scheduled to start at 1:40 and end at 3:45 p.m. Tickets are by donation ($10 suggested) with funds going towards Bridge’s future projects. Tickets are available through www.eventbrite.ca.
