The Delta Literary Arts Society (DLAS) is back at it again spooking audiences with its second Halloween-themed event, Killer Verse: Night of Literary Terror.

The Delta Literary Arts Society (DLAS) is back at it again spooking audiences with its second Halloween-themed event, Killer Verse: Night of Literary Terror.

This production, featuring actors, costumed narrators, creepy music, and a couple of eery films will haunt the North Delta Centre for the Arts on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.

“Halloween is always geared towards children, so it’s fun to have an event strictly for an adult audience,” says Angela Rebrec, president of the Delta Literary Arts Society.

Guests this year will be able to enjoy a beer or cider as the Society is thrilled to be featuring the team from Barnside Brewing.

The event will present new fiction and poetry from horror writers across the continent, including performances by local actors.

“This show is definitely for mature audiences,” warns Rebrec.

“As always, the City of Delta has been a collaborative “dream team” partner, working together with DLAS to bring entertaining literary events to stage here in Delta,” adds Carson Jones, Social Media Manager for DLAS.

If fear isn’t your wheelhouse, DLAS has a whole host of events planned for the upcoming year including its bi-monthly reading-in-conversation series InkWellTold, its children’s winter-themed production of Suki’s Reindeer Wish, and its full-day poetry festival UNBOUND, celebrating National Poetry Month.

“We want to encourage the literary talents of student, emerging and established writers in Delta,” says Diana Calliou, treasurer of DLAS.

Tickets for Killer Verse are available through Eventbrite or via email.
