The Delta Museum and Archives Society is hosting a pair of photography workshops later this month.

Digital Photography and Photographic Composition will both provide a great opportunity to get answers to your questions while experiencing enjoyable and information packed days.

Bring your camera, an empty memory card, your camera's instruction book, a notepad and your lunch. Both workshops will begin with a lecture followed by a question and answer session.

After a lunch break, participants will do a bit of shooting in Ladner Village. In the afternoon, those photos will be projected on a screen for discussion.

Instructor Ron Long was a professional photographer at Simon Fraser University for 36 years. During the same period Long had a parallel career in teaching photography at various venues.

Now retired, Long travels extensively, gives talks about the locations around the world he has visited and, when opportunity knocks, he remains active in teaching photography.

The workshops are being held in the museum annex, 4918 Delta St. (two blocks north of the historic museum building).

Digital Photography is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8, while Photographic Composition is on Saturday, Oct. 22. Both will run from 10 a.m. to 3: 30 p.m. The cost for each is $40.

As space is limited, preregistration and payment are required. For more information or to register, call 604-946-9322 or visit www.deltamuseum.ca.
