A group of volunteers from the Delta Nats Casual Birders group installed 10 bird nest boxes at Reifel Bird Sanctuary this week.
The volunteers also cleaned and closed a bunch of other boxes on the driveway into Reifel and had close encounters with a pileated woodpecker and a mink along the way.
The Delta Nats Casual Birders is a group of people who like watching birds, mostly around Boundary Bay and in the Fraser delta.
The group, led by Delta Naturalists' Society president Tom Bearss, usually meets once a week in Tsawwassen.
