Firefighters to the rescue

Delta firefighters came to the rescue of an overtired stroke survivor who had been on a coach trip to Granville Island with a group of Delta Stroke Recovery members.

The group had lunch at the Culinary Arts Centre followed by the live Patsy Cline show at the Granville Island stage or a choice to wander the market stalls.

It turned into a pretty tiring experience for Joe Campbell, who is normally confined to a wheelchair.

He needed help getting off the coach when it returned to Tsawwassen.

By early evening Campbell was pretty tired and a club member called the fire department requesting its help to get him off the bus.

True to their calling, four strong young men lifted Campbell from the bus to his chair.
