Prepare to be amazed and dazzled by 28 artists and artisans this weekend, who will be selling their pieces and products at Ladner’s Harris Barn during the third annual For the Love of Art in South Delta.

On Nov. 6 and 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., come wander the two floors of the beautiful cedar barn to browse through the many different mediums of art and products available to purchase, no matter what your price range is.

“I think it’s going to be really, really good. I think that there will be a lot of people who want to come out, who are, really, kind of thirsty for these experiences again,” says organizer and participating artist Jan Rankin.

With free admission, live music from acoustic guitarist and vocalist Jana Seale and writer, singer and songwriter Sam Wallace, and different door prizes up for grabs, the event is organized to be “elegantly casual.”

“It’s so great to have a whole bunch of artists come together, it’s just really exciting and there’s a lot of energy,” said Rankin. “A lot of these artists don’t have any way to show their work, so this is a great time for them ... There’s a couple people who it will be their very first art show ever, and for some people it’s old hat.”

Whether you’re coming out to browse around or are hunting for something in particular, she encourages folks to chat with the artists, to participate in the scavenger hunt and door prizes and enjoy themselves while being surrounded by brilliant works.

The charity supporting mothers and caregivers in crisis, Mamas for Mamas, has been given a table to host their own fundraising activities.

Rankin asks that folks wanting to come out please be aware that provincial health protocols are in effect and will be asked at the door to show proof of double vaccination and to wear a mask unless eating at a table inside the venue.

Harris Barn is located at 4140 Arthur Dr. in Ladner.
