Ladner's Kings Links by the Sea donated the course for a cause and hosted the Adventus Realty Charity Golf Tournament "For the Kids" last month.

The tournament was organized and sponsored by Rod Johnston, Jeet Pangli and Kings Links owner Brad Newell and raised over $30,000 benefiting three children's charities close to the sponsors' hearts.

Newell, along with his wife Maria, chose Reach Child and Youth Development Society as one of the charities in honour of their goddaughter, Eva, who has Down syndrome. Eva attended Reach's Infant Development and Therapies programs with positive outcomes, so the family wanted to do something to help others experience success.

Funds from the tournament will help Reach purchase new therapeutic equipment that will support children with Down syndrome and other special needs and will be available for families to borrow.

Proceeds from the tournament will also go towards Mind Check, a website for children supporting mental health, and Fraser Academy non-profit school for children with language-based learning disabilities.
