Ladner Pioneers open series with 9-4 win against Nanaimo

The Ladner Pioneers beat the Nanaimo Timbermen 9-4 Sunday to open their West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association semi-final playoff series. Ladner got hat tricks from Quinn Waddington and Cam Taylor while Greg Rennie scored twice and had five assists.

Ladner got hat tricks from Quinn Waddington and Cam Taylor while Greg Rennie scored twice and had five assists. Nathan Clare scored the other goal.

Shawn Swanson had two goals for Nanaimo while Brian Potter and Mike Maughan added singles.

The two teams met last night for Game 2 past the Optimist's press deadline.

Game 3 is scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight at either Ladner Arena or the South Delta Recreation Centre, depending on the outcome of yesterday's Delta Islanders playoff game.
