The Royal City Literary Arts Society's annual Write On! contest is open for fiction, non-fiction and poetry entries until May 1.

Calling all word nerds in New Westminster and beyond.

If you’ve got a story to share, the Royal City Literary Arts Society wants to hear from you. Its annual Write On! contest is underway, and entries are being accepted until May 1.

Writers are invited to submit in three categories: non-fiction, fiction and poetry.

Non-fiction and fiction entries can be up to 1,500 words, while poetry must be a maximum of one page, single-spaced.

The top three winners in each category receive prizes of $150, $100 and $75, respectively, while three honourable mentions are also named. Winners and honourable mentions will be published in the RCLAS e-zine, Wordplay at Work.

Entries cost $10 per submission for RCLAS members, or $20 per submission for non-members. (You can buy an RCLAS membership for $35 a year.)

Judging is blind; submissions to judges are anonymous. Be sure to check out full contest rules before submitting.
