While numerous nominations of deserving Delta youth are beginning to come in for the Delta Rotary Youth Awards, due to spring break the nomination deadline will be extended until Wednesday, March 28.

The fourth annual Delta Rotary Youth Awards will take place on Saturday, May 12 with a dinner and ceremony at the Delta Town & Country Inn in Ladner.

A committee combined from the Rotary clubs of Tsawwassen, Ladner and North Delta will recognize deserving Delta youth, selecting one story that best represents the spirit in each of its four award categories.

The Rotary clubs need the public's assistance to identify those remarkable individuals who are making a difference in the community.

Sports groups, church groups, schools or other organizations in Delta are being asked to help recognize these unsung heroes by nominating that amazing boy or girl, age 10 to 18 years.

Delta youth may be nominated for recognition in any one of four categories: Compassion and Empathy, Inner Strength, Helping Hand and Global.

The Rotary clubs will recognize all youths nominated.

Nomination forms can be downloaded at www.clubrunner.ca/ladner or for a form and more information contact Tsawwassen Rotary Club president Leslie Abramson at abramson@ telus.net or 604-946-0672.
