Over 500 people attended the first-ever open house last Saturday at Pony Pals Therapeutic Riding Association's new facility in East Delta.

The event included demonstration rides, pony rides, face painting and a barbecue hosted by the Delta Fire Fighters Charitable Society.

Over $3,000 was raised in one afternoon for the charity, which serves those with physical, emotional and cognitive disabilities by enabling them to find freedom on the back of a horse.

Many wonderful volunteers joined with Envision Financial Scottsdale, Delta firefighters and SaveOnFoods Ladner to make the event happen.

Tickets went on sale at the open house for the Special Riders Raffle, which has a first prize of two round-trip tickets to anywhere Westjet flies.
