Earthwise Society is continuing with its popular musical evenings in the garden with a performance by Scattered Coals on Wednesday, Aug. 17.

Scattered Coals brings together a group of great friends and fine pickers who share a love for songwriting, performance and the fine craft of music.

The will perform from 6 to 8 p.m.

Scattered Coals' musical influences are as varied as the paths that brought the members together and their approach to bluegrass and old-time is "respectfully irreverent."

Their performances push the boundaries of the genre while seeking a balance of originality, musicianship, respect for the tradition and a fiery passion for having a good time.

Enjoy the sounds of Scattered Coals with your dinner, as Earthwise Society fires up its cob oven and serves up fresh pizzas and beverages. Food will be available starting at 6 p.m.

If you arrive early, check out the offerings at the Farm Store, open from 3 p.m., including a new crop of heirloom tomatoes. Then grab a chair or table and sit back for a foot-tapping good time.

Scattered Coals' Earthwise performance will raise funds for the Family Harvest Box program run in partnership with Delta Food Coalition. The Family Harvest Box program helps provide fresh, nutritious produce from the Earthwise Farm to local families in need.
