Students can show off their spelling skills in events at all three Delta libraries

Spelling enthusiasts who are currently in grades 6 or 7 are invited to showcase their skills by competing in the Fraser Valley Regional Library's Sport of Spelling. Entrants will compete in a spelling bee at their home library.

The top five spellers will receive medals and advance to the Fraser Valley Regional Library Grand Championship at the Clearbrook Library in Abbotsford on Nov. 26.

Spelling bees will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Tsawwassen (10: 30 a.m. to 12: 30 p.m.) and Ladner Pioneer (2 to 4 p.m.) branches. The George Mackie Library in North Delta will hold its competition on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Space is limited to a maximum of 25 competitors; registration deadline is Oct. 15.
