Vans donated to Delta's community police stations

Rotary clubs and police foundation combine to provide new Chevy Orlandos to storefront operations

The Delta Police Department has a new fleet of vehicles for its three volunteer-based community police stations thanks to the Rotary clubs of Delta and the Delta Police Foundation.

Each CoPS office now has a new Chevrolet Orlando to help facilitate numerous community safety programs.

The total donation is valued at almost $75,000.

"The Delta police are grateful for the generosity of the Rotary clubs and the Delta Police Foundation," said Chief Jim Cessford. "These community groups value the spirit of volunteerism and public safety in our communities. These donated vehicles will facilitate our volunteer programs, which create safer, more connected communities."

The community stations located in Ladner, Tsawwassen and North Delta operate a number of programs, including Community Crime Watch, Speed Watch, Lock Out Auto Crime and Block Watch.
