There's a new place to get a cup of joe in Tsawwassen.

Co-owners Kelly McCloskey and Sandy McKellar opened The Wood N Frog Coffee Company last Wednesday.

The couple, which has a communications company downtown, moved to South Delta two-and-a-half years ago and was looking to set up a community business that was "unique and fun."

They wanted something that was people orientated and something "where we were engaging with the community," said McKellar.

Wood N Frog, which is committed to bringing in unique coffees that have proven themselves on the world stage, uses a Roastaire roaster that can produce 30 pounds of freshly roasted beans per hour with near-zero emission technology.

Patrons can also grab a bite to eat at Wood N Frog, including salads, soups (two choices daily), cold and hot sandwiches (made to order), baked goods, sweet treats and as winter gets closer, stews and gourmet mac and cheese style hearty dishes.

As for their new venture's name, "the two words, really to us, say everything about this business," said McKellar. "The wood is everything rich and warm and organic. The frog is the fun, playful, friendly."

The Wood N Frog Coffee Company is located at 5694-12th Ave., Tsawwassen.
