The Delta Chamber of Commerce has found a new way to promote local businesses and create a sense of community despite pandemic restrictions.

The Chamber is announcing the release of their new podcast, Our Delta, Your Story, where they highlight behind-the-scenes stories of local businesses.

“We tend to think of businesses and corporations as brand promises or specific products and services. This podcast will showcase the stories of the people behind the businesses to learn about their personal experiences in starting or running their businesses through both periods of struggle and growth,” said Chamber executive director and podcast host Garry Shearer. “We hope their personal insights will uncover some lessons and ideas on how other local business people can improve their personal experience and growth within their business.”

You can now stream the podcast’s first two episodes on Apple Podcasts, which include interviews with Rick Gibbs, president of Neutron Factory Works, and Darren Bach, president of Pacific Coast Marine Windshields. You will hear unexpected stories about how one electrician-turned-executive became a champion for local food security, and how a 12-year-old’s first business renting innertubes by the lake led to a manufacturing company that has remained resilient through recessions and theft of design patents.

Future episodes will include interviews with Barnside Brewing, West Coast Seeds, Santevia, and more.
