Team Depot from the Scott Road Home Depot store was out at Orphaned Wildlife Rescue (OWL) in Ladner last week constructing a covered seating area.

As part of a Team Depot project, Home Depot donates materials, staff time and labour to take on projects to help enhance community resources.

Bev Day, executive director at OWL, said the new covered seating area will be used primarily for the many seniors' tours that come through the refuge.

She said the area is closer to the school house and will give seniors a covered place to have lunch while on the tour.

Day said with the lack of government funding over the past four years, there is no room in the budget for such projects.

This is the third project Team Depot has completed at OWL. In the past, the team built two gazebos and some flowerbeds.
