With spring break meaning another “staycation” for many, We Love Delta and the BC Restaurant and Foodservices Association have teamed up to offer a new campaign that is serving up plenty of local flavour in more ways than one.

The inaugural Dine Around Delta gets underway this Friday (March 12) and wraps up on March 28. The 16-day celebration of local business, local tastes and dining features specially priced three-course meals ranging from $25 to $45 for dinner and $15 to $35 for lunch. There are also unique take-away specials.

The We Love Delta campaign was launched by Delta’s Community Resilience and Economic Recovery Support Team to help stimulate economic recovery amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It encourages residents to come together, share their stories and, most importantly, support Delta business.

The BC Restaurant and Foodservices Association’s Dine Around program is already a proven success in other jurisdictions and recently wrapped up campaigns in Victoria, Okanagan, Prince George and the Kootenays.

“We Love Delta was created to help businesses and now we are getting into spring and still not able to do the things we come to expect,” explained Samantha Scholefield, program manager for the BC Restaurant and Foodservices Association. “We thought doing the Dine Around program during the spring break time would give people a reason to get out and do something fun and make an adventure out of it.

“Maybe you go do a walk or go do some kind of outdoor activity, then you go visit one of your local restaurants as one of your destination things to do during spring break. We are trying to stay close to home, but that doesn’t mean we can’t support local businesses. They are really an important part of all communities. Not only employing local people, but the local farms, local wineries and breweries. Then there are supporting sports teams, local draws and all sorts of things throughout the year.”

Participating restaurants include:
