Nominate a business for Hats Off to Excellence Awards

Since 1951, the Delta Chamber of Commerce has recognized outstanding community members and businesspersons at the Hats Off to Excellence Awards Gala.

Is there a local business that you rely on? A business who’s staff always go above and beyond? What about that business that always has your back when it’s crunch time, even when it means they have to put in extra hours, come in early or stay late for you?

If there is a businesses that you think of as your go-to why not nominated them for a Hat’s off to Excellence Award so that everyone will learn about the value they have to offer.

Since 1951, the Delta Chamber of Commerce has recognized outstanding community members and businesspersons at the Hats Off to Excellence Awards Gala. Honourees are chosen based on the criteria of professional accomplishments, leadership, initiative, and community involvement. Finalists will be honoured and award recipients will be announced on Nov. 18.

Award categories: Rising Star Business, Small Business of the Year, Medium Business of the Year, Large Business of the Year, Community Impact Award, Business of the Year and Citizen of the Year.

Eligibility criteria:

To nominate, you do not have to be a member of the Delta Chamber of Commerce

Nominations are not exclusive to Delta Chamber members

Nominees must live and/or work in the federal electoral district of Delta, and businesses must be based in Delta

While a business or individual may be nominated for a maximum of three award categories, they may only be selected as a finalist for one single category per year

A business or individual is ineligible to win the same award category for two years following the year in which they won.

“Nominations from the community at large for these awards is a significant value to this recognition as community members are often the ones that the personal experiences which exemplify the outstanding expertise and experience of our local businesses,” says Jill McKnight, Executive Director of the Delta Chamber. “We encourage everyone to participate in nominating local businesses, even if you are not familiar with all elements of a business, please share with us your experiences and help us celebrate the incredible talent we have here.”

Nominations for The Hats Off to Excellence Awards will close on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 11:59 p.m. and the awards will be handed out at the gala event, presented by the Port of Vancouver, on Friday, Nov. 18 at Tsawwassen Springs.
