Last week, thousands of people flocked to White Spot Restaurants across the province, including the Tsawwassen location, for Pirate Pak Day.

Every year on Pirate Pak Day the restaurant chain donates $2 from the purchase of every kid and adult Pirate Pak to Zajac Ranch for Children. This year, Pirate Pak Day raised $50,470 for the charity.

"The response from White Spot guests was just incredible," said president Warren Erhart. "Each year we have celebrated a record-breaking donation, and this year was no different. On Wednesday, we sold 23,110 Pirate Paks to both the young and young at heart, allowing us to help even more kids enjoy the wonderful and enriching experiences that Zajac Ranch has to offer."

This money is used to purchase school supplies for children in all 24 elementary schools in the Delta School District.

The Staples School Supply Drive is a national initiative. Last year, more than $1 million was raised across Canada.

This year's drive started on July 29 and continues until Sept. 9.
