Shoppers Drug Mart-Delta owner and pharmacist Shin Dinza, along with his staff, recently presented a cheque to Jackey Zellweger, events co-ordinator for Delta Hospital Foundation.

The Tree of Life fundraising campaign at Shoppers Drug Marts across Canada donates funds to community healthcare charities.

"We choose the Delta Hospital Foundation as our local charity," says Dinza, "because this hospital services our customers, and best helps our local community."

"Independent special events are a great way to get involved with the hospital outside of those events that we organize," says Zellweger. "We really appreciate the effort that Shin and his staff have dedicated to the hospital.

Independent events are easy and fun. If you can think of a way to fundraise, we can find a way to help you."

The Delta Hospital Foundation Women's Health Fund is designated to a broad range of diagnostic and healing procedures that address the health needs of women. In 2012, monies raised for the Women's Health Fund will go towards the purchase of priority equipment such as hysterscopes and resectoscopes used for screening patients for uterus cancer, treating them for anemia or determining a reason for miscarriages.
