After more than four years in business, Sublime Art Supplies and Gallery in Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall is still going strong.
Owned by local artists and sisters Shannan and Jennifer O'Brien, Sublime offers a wide variety of art supplies - from frames and matting to paints and brushes - for all skill levels at competitive prices.
The sisters recently added an Office Corner that's been stocked will all sorts of school and office supplies.
Shannan said the pair saw the store as "something the community needed."
The two artists were also looking for somewhere local to get their own supplies.
The sisters have been happy with the response from the local art community, saying many artists strive to find their supplies locally.
Sublime also features and sells the work of local artists.
The store will be hosting its annual Christmas Market from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. every Saturday in November. It's held throughout the mall and features local artisans and their handmade works for sale.
This is the third year for the Christmas Market, which typically features between 30 and 40 vendors each week. There's a different selection of vendors every Saturday so shoppers are encouraged to come out every week to see the huge variety of items for sale .
The sisters say they hope to create a greater sense of community through such events.
This year's market will feature visits from Santa Claus, who will be available to pose for photos, as well as some Christmas carolers.
Sublime also organizes an annual Spring Market at Mother's Day.
The sisters help foster budding artists in the community with children's art classes in the summer. As well, they recently started hosting art parties where groups of four to 10 can complete a project at the store, allowing people to have some fun without making a mess at home.
